Join Bishop Carter in the first “tweet meet” for the Florida Conference from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 14.

The Bishop invites laity and clergy members of the conference to engage in a Twitter conversation about their journeys or their church’s progress toward becoming disciples of Christ.

Our goal is to learn via Twitter more about how we are becoming disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world and to hear from people who share their experiences in social media. The Bishop encourages participants to discuss their personal path to discipleship, as well as how nurturing disciples of Christ is playing out in their local church.

Later this week, you’ll find the meeting address tweeted at www.twitter.com/flumc and posted on www.flumc.org and news page www.floridaconferenceconnection.info.

Participants will need to have a Twitter account. They can sign up for one for free by going to www.twitter.com.

Church Loan Status

To PCC Members:
As you know, we have an outstanding loan to pay for the Life Enrichment Center. We are making progress on repaying the loan and under the terms of the loan it needed to be renegotiated at this point.

We have closed on a new loan. It will be for 15 years and require “interest only” payments and a minimal annual principal payment of $73,000. The interest rate is 4.25% fixed for five years.

After five years, and every five years thereafter, the interest rate will adjust to 275 basis points over the 5-year US Treasury with no floor. The new loan begins May 7, 2013, which is the maturity of our previous loan.

BOTTOM LINE:
-Our new loan will be paid in 15 years
-We can pay it off earlier with no penalty-and it is our full intent to do that.
-Our annual minimum payment is $73K plus interest
